3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Gombe

After breakfast you will take off for another day of chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Gombe Stream National Park became well known for the conservation project started by Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe on 1960. You will climb to Jane’s peak and visit Kakombe waterfalls if time allows; as well as taking a walk on your own, after this trek, along the lake’s waterfall is also possible. Later in the day you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will be picked-up and taken, by boat, back to Kigoma Town. Upon arrival you will be picked-up and driven to the airport for your flight back to Dar Es Salaam. This is where your safari will end.

Day 1: Fly Dar es Salaam – Kigoma
Pick up from the hotel in Dar es Salaam for and transfer to the airport for a flight to Kigoma. Arrive kigoma met and greet then transfer to the lake shore for a boat to Gombe National Park. Dinner and overnight Gombe Rest House.
Early morning we will pick you up from your hotel or resident house in Dar es Salaam and transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma which departs at 09:30 am and arrives Kigoma at 11:40 am. Upon arrival at Kigoma you will be met and transfer to the restaurant in Kigoma town where you will take lunch and after lunch to Kibirizi Port for a boat ride to Gombe national park. Normally the boat ride from Kigoma to Gombe takes about one and half hours floating in the water of the world longest lake and the second deepest lake “Lake Tanganyika”. The water of this lake is very clear to the extent that you can see clearly fish and other creature at depth to several meters. As you arrive Gombe you will finalize the all the required park registrations, check in at the rest house and then departs into the forest for a chimpanzee trekking. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is obviously the chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests including colobus monkey, baboon, forest pig, dik dik, and various tropical birds inhabit the dense forest. Dinner and your overnight stay is provided at Tanapa Rest house.

Day 2: Gombe Chimpanzee Trekking
Breakfast at the rest house and depart for another day of chimpanzee tracking in the forest escorted by your guide. Today you will trek through the legendary chimpanzee feeding station to the beautiful Kakombe water falls. The chimpanzee feeding station were built purposely to feed the chimps but after some years later it was discovered that the chimps the death rate increases due to the falling of their body immunity. In the mid-day return back to the rest house for hot lunch. You may opt to go for afternoon chimp tracking of spend the remaining hours of the day relax at the lodge enjoy swimming in the clear crystal water of the Lake Tanganyika. Dinner and overnight at Gombe Rest House.

Day 3: Gombe Chimpanzee Trekking
Leisure breakfast at the rest house later at 09:00 am catch your boat for a ride back to Kigoma where you will at 10:30 am and transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Dar es Salaam which departs Kigoma at 12:50 pm and arrive Dar es Salaam at 15:00 pm.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
Your 3 days Selous Game Reserve safari starts from Dar es Salaam on a 40minutes flight to the Selous Mtemere Airstrip which departs at 10:30 am. Upon your arrival at Selous you will be met by our driver guide who will transfer you to Butembo tented lodge for check inn, lunch and short rest. Selous Butembo Tented Lodge is perched on the edge of the mighty Rufiji River with all the tents magnificently structured with a safari atmosphere, tastefully furnished and with en suite toilets, sinks and showers. All tents are facing the Rufiji River. Late afternoon after a short rest you will depart for a boat trip which is an ideal beginning to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the snaking Rufiji River with its famed hippos, crocodiles and beautiful birdlife. The sunset on the boat can be stunning – there is nothing quite like the serenity of the river while the sun dips below the horizon. Then back to the Butembo Lodge for dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

Day 2: Full day game viewing in Selous
Enjoy a full day game viewing in the reserve with packed picnic lunch participate in some classic style game drives – exploring the bush in 4×4 vehicles. During the game drives one might be lucky enough to see a pack of African Wild Dog even though becoming extinct in most parts of Africa, they are thriving in the Selous. Just bear in mind that the Selous Game Reserve is larger than Switzerland and Denmark and has the largest population of elephant in Tanzania as well as large number of buffalos, hippos and wild dogs. To be seen also are an array of lions, elands, bushbuck, giraffes, impalas, baboons, zebras, crocodiles and greater kudus, just to name but a few. Also it might be your lucky day to spot the rare sable antelope. In the late afternoon you will drive back to the camp for a brilliant view of the sunset, dinner and overnight at Selous Butembo Tented Lodge.

Day 3: Morning walking Safari – Dar es Salaam
The walking safari starts as early as 06.30am. The crispy fresh African air mixed with the wild waft of the animals evokes your sense of smell to the intoxication unique bush odors of Africa. This allows you to get a real feel of the African bush. The sights, sounds and smells of a walking safari are a special treat that will live a long in your memory. The thrill of being close up to the animals and to “shoot” them with your camera is one of the greatest unforgettable experiences one carries back to the “civilized” world. Thereafter back to the Lodge for breakfast before flying to the enchanting white beaches of Zanzibar.

Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro
Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet and greet with our guide then transfer to Moshi town for overnight at Keys Lodge.

Day 2: Kilimanjaro Day Climb – Moshi – Arusha

Elevation (ft): 6,046 ft to 8,858 ft
Distance: 8 km/5 miles
Hiking Up and down Time: 8 – 10 hours

Today Early morning depart to Marangu gate for the necessary formalities before beginning of the trek. The hiking trail begins by ascending a beautiful, tropical rain forest. At the upper edge of the forest you will be able to see blue monkeys. The trail then widens to expose beautiful hillsides until you reach Mandara Hut. Enjoy picnic lunch at Mandara, short rest then start trekking back to Marangu gate where you will be transferred to Arusha town for overnight at Impala Hotel.

Day 3: Arusha to Serengeti
After breakfast you will leave Arusha and drive to Serengeti National Park with lunch boxes. While driving across ngorongoro conservation area you will be spotting some animals such as zebras, giraffes, gazelles and small herds of wildebeest. Arrive Serengeti in afternoon and continue with the game drive till evening. Serengeti is over 6,000 square miles of sprawling, unspoiled landscape. Add to that an extraordinary population of resident and migratory animals in a constant bid for survival, and you understand why this is often called, “the world as it was in the beginning.” As soon as you enter the park, wildlife viewing begins. Search for leopard and lion. Watch in awe as zebra, wildebeest, and elephant simply appears from amidst the woodlands and plains. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Safari lodge.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti Mara River
Breakfast, departs for game drive en-route to Northern Serengeti at Bologonja Area. Normally in Mid- July to Mid-September the herds of migration cross Mara River from Serengeti to Maasai Mara game reserve. The migration stays only for few months in Maasai Mara and start to cross Mara River back to Serengeti in mid- October to Early November. Watching the herds crossing the River is a phenomena and a life time memory. Different scenes can be observed at the crossing point including that of Giants Nile crocodiles killing the wildebeest and zebra. After a long day of game viewing along the banks of Mara River drive to Game viewing during tand August for the morning game drive back to lodge for lunch and continue with afternoon game drive till evening where you will drive back to the lodge for sundowner, dinner and overnight Serengeti Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti
Today continue with the game viewing in the northern Serengeti area at Kogatende where your driver will try his level best to located different spots where the migration crossing the Mara river. Picnic lunch will be served just at the banks of the river. During the river crossing a number of predators such as lions and hyena can easily be spotted following the herds. Several predator birds such as vultures and marabou stocks will also be seen in the area. Late afternoon drive back to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Overnight Country Lodge Karatu
After breakfast we will leave Serengeti game drive en-route and move to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the olduvai Gorge and the maasai boma. Dinner and overnight at Country Lodge Karatu.

Day 7: Crater tour overnight Country lodge
Today we descend down Ngorongoro crater for game viewing with packed lunch. The park is one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’. A visit to the crater is a main attraction for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Masaai herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries.

Day 8: Karatu -Arusha – Zanzibar Overnight Warere
Today after breakfast we shall transfer you to Arusha town for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge and after lunch drop at the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to North coast at Warere Beach Bungalow for overstay.

Day 9 – 11: Leisure stay at Warere Beach Bungalow
Leisure stay at the hotel swimming. Optional stone town tour, Spice tour, prison island tour will be available on request per extra charge.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Pickup from the hotel at 8am with picnic lunch for the journey to Lake Manyara National Park. As you arrive to the park continue with game drive till evening. Although this park is small in dimension (205 sq. miles) but it has breathtaking scenery and well famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees, as well as to a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Permanent resident animals of this park include lions, giraffes, elephants, impalas and a huge amount of buffaloes. The lake is also home to a large number of hippos. The Great Rift Valley escarpment at Lake Manyara is something that cannot be described by words but is something be seen by everyone. Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast at the lodge, depart towards the world most famous National park “The Serengeti”. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, “endless plains”. The park has 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home to the Great Migration which involves over 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes. As for Big Cats and large predators, it’s the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

On this day we suggest a very early wake up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. After the game drive, we return to the Lodge for a rewarding brunch and then we’ll proceed to Ngorongoro, the 8th wonder of the Natural World. The crater spreads for 102 sq. miles and has 2.000 ft high walls, making it virtually a Noah’s ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black Rhino. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants which, are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World. Arrive Karatu for dinner and overnight at Tloma Lodge.

 

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning breakfast, depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area for crater tour. Descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth.
