with a diameter of 40 miles at its base.

There
are two main snow capped peaks, kibo and Mawenzi. The two peaks stand about 11km.
Apart Kibo, the higher peak rises to 5893m. above sea level and the summit of
Mawenzi is 5149m. above sea level. Although Mt. Kilimanjaro lies 3 degrees South
of the Equator, an ice tap covers the crater of Kibo all year round. Mount Kilimanjaro
is firmly on Tanzanian Soil!!! Mount Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania.

Note
|
Climb
slowly to increase your acclimatization time and maximize your chances of reaching
the summit. To avoid altitude sickness, allow a minimum of 4 nights, preferably
5 or even more for the climb. Take your time and enjoy the beauty of the mountain.
